The video shows the pair in what appears to be a nightclub, but others have suggested the two men may be outside dancing to the revolving blue light of their emergency response vehicle.
Both are dressed in their police uniforms, and throughout the recording wave their pistols in the air before firing several shots carefree into the sky.
Their identities are protected, however, by thick black balaclavas which cover both of their faces.
Commissioner Ruben Cifuentes, director of Chubut Police, blasted the ‘outrageous’ actions of the two as yet unidentified policemen.
He said: ‘Nothing can justify the action of these two officers.
‘I have already ordered an administrative intervention so we can analyse this video and investigate who these people are. This behaviour is outrageous.
‘When one of them turns around, the Chubut Police logo can be seen on his uniform.
At the beginning of the video, the pair can be seen dancing with their arms out and weapons in their hands
The man on the right if first to fire his pistol, pointing it towards the ground before raising it upwards and pulling the trigger
The second dancing officer also discharges his firearm, sending another bullet flying into the unknown
‘While many officers risk or lose their lives to defend communities, we’ve got these two characters who only generate lack of trust and jeopardise our institutional image.’
Many outraged people commented under the video on YouTube.
Axell Rodri said: ‘That is typical for Argentina, it happens all the time.’
James Thompson added: ‘It amuses and frightens me at the same time,’ before Gaston Bustamante commented: ‘This is what policemen do in their spare time.’
